Put-downs for idiots and tightarses. Plenty of them get used between mates as a joke.

As good as one man short

Someone so unproductive that having them on the team is the same as being one person down.

"He's as good as one man short."

Cooked

Crazy, or wrecked from drugs or a big night. Also used for anything broken or beyond saving.

"The ute's cooked. Engine's gone."

Drongo

An idiot. Mild, often affectionate.

"Drongo."

Dropkick

A useless or contemptible person.

"Absolute dropkick."

Eshay

A young tough from the suburbs, known for Nike TNs, bum bags and petty crime. Also a greeting eshays use with each other.

"Some eshay tried to nick my bike."

Galah

A fool. A galah is a loud pink-and-grey cockatoo.

"Silly galah."

Get stuffed

Go away, and the answer is no. Strength depends entirely on tone; can be affectionate between mates.

"Get stuffed."

Have a go, ya mug

Shouted at someone, often a batsman, who isn't trying hard enough.

"Have a go, ya mug!"

Nong

A fool. Mild.

"You nong."

Piker

Someone who pulls out of plans or leaves early.

"Don't be a piker."

Piss-poor

Very bad.

"The service was piss-poor."

Piss-weak

Feeble or pathetic. Said about an effort, an excuse or a person.

"That was a piss-weak effort from the whole team."

Pisshead

A heavy drinker.

"Her uncle's a pisshead but a good bloke."

Ranga

A redhead.

"The ranga in the corner."

Ratbag

A troublemaker or rascal. Often affectionate.

"One of those ratbag kids."

Rough as a pig's breakfast

Messy or badly done. Also used for someone who looks worse for wear.

"Rough as a pig's breakfast, but it'll hold."

Sook

A crybaby or whinger.

"Such a sook."

Up yourself

Arrogant and full of yourself.

"He's so up himself."

Westie

Someone from the western suburbs of Sydney, or of another city. Usually a put-down.

"Penrith. Proud westie."

Yobbo

An uncouth, loutish person.

"Bunch of yobbos."
